Account Executive Role

Overview

Driving revenue growth by identifying opportunities, building relationships, and closing deals through consultative selling, solution alignment, and collaboration with the technical sales team.

The Account Executive (AE) is responsible for managing the customer relationship from initial contact through contract execution. The AE will qualify opportunities, understand customer goals, position Profound Technologies’ solutions, and close profitable deals while ensuring a smooth handoff to project management and engineering teams.

Account Executive Role Summary

The Account Executive engages with prospective and existing customers, identifies opportunities through proactive outreach and inbound leads, and leads them through a consultative sales process. Supported by the Sales Engineering and Marketing departments, the AE owns the commercial side of the sale — developing relationships, managing proposals, negotiating terms, and closing deals.

The AE also acts as the voice of the customer internally, ensuring solutions align with customer goals and expectations. This role requires strong follow-up, a focus on measurable outcomes, and the ability to drive results through clear communication and collaboration with internal teams.




Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage a pipeline of qualified opportunities through outbound prospecting, inbound lead follow-up, and existing account development

  • Conduct discovery meetings to understand client needs, business drivers, and project objectives

  • Partner with Sales Engineers to translate technical requirements into compelling solutions and proposals

  • Present solutions, deliver quotes, and clearly communicate project scope, pricing, and value proposition

  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and agreements with customers to successfully close deals

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date CRM records, including activity tracking, opportunity stages, and forecasting

  • Coordinate with engineering and project management for smooth handoffs and excellent post-sale experience

  • Represent Profound Technologies with professionalism and integrity in all customer and partner interactions

  • Contribute feedback to marketing and leadership regarding customer trends, competitive insights, and growth opportunities

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience

  • 3+ years of experience in technology, IT, or AV solution sales (required)

  • Familiarity with AV integration, conferencing platforms (Zoom, Microsoft Teams), and collaboration technologies (preferred)

  • Experience managing complex B2B sales cycles and closing deals over $50K+ (preferred)

  • Proficiency with CRM systems and modern sales tools
